A lot has happened! First Daughter Born!!!!!

Hi everyone!,
I can't believe it has been nearly 4 months since I last wrote in my blog. What kept me away was the birth of my first child Ashley. It is such a joy to be a new dad, but it is also a lot of work. I was fixing up my website today, so I figured I should write even though I have not yet figured out how to transfer pictures from my I-phone to my laptop. Yes, I did buy an I-phone and I cannot recommend them more highly. I saw a commercial today for the new motorola Razr, and it really looks very old and outdated in comparison. As far as real estate goes, I sold the last house I had listed in only 19 days. Dang I'm good! And I have still been trying to trade on the stock market. I made 3 trades in 3 days worth $1,800 each, then lost all of it the next morning by being careless. It was very frustrating, but was also a great learning experience. Always transfer winnings of over 1,000 out immediately!!!!! Anyway, I am working on new ways to get more listings. If you need to list your home, I am the most attentive agent working in Utah. Call me.

MHCSIGNS.COM RULES!!!

I just received the real estate sign I ordered from MHC SIGNS to promote my new listing in Orem, Utah, and oh my gosh is it beautiful!!! It is seriously the very best looking real estate sign I have ever seen. Mark at www.mhcsigns.com said that it is the best looking real estate sign he has ever made. His company is located in Payson Utah, but he services all of Utah county. I am very impressed with his work. I expect this sign to really help my business. He even delivered it to me in Orem!!! The image is on both sides and the panel is made of either steel or aluminum - it is very heavy duty. Great work Mark!

2nd try on the stock market

As the title says I am taking another shot at the stockmarket. I have a TDAmeritrade account and am pretty happy with their interface. However, it does seem that unlike in real estate, everything I touch on the stock market turns to crud. I stopped last time after losing only a couple hundred dollars. I am down about $150 today, but plan on holding on a little longer at least. It is very difficult to know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em on the stock market. It is almost as if I should make a decision to do something that I think will be lucrative, then do the exact opposite. I just clicked over to my stock streamer page and see that I am now down another $50 bucks. But one thing can be said for the stock market: it gets me excited to get up at 6:00 am every weekday. I hop out of bed believing that today is going to be my lucky day. That I will pull up my account and see hundreds of dollars that weren't there the day before. My goal is to make $200 every day, which would work out to about $48,000. a year on the stock market alone. But that, I am learning, is a very far fetched goal. I am also reading a book called "Mastering the Trade" - which cost me $55 and so far has only told me to stay calm and detached from the ups and downs of the market and stick to my game plan - a simple idea, but one that is difficult to stick to when my stocks are plumetting. Anyway, I did learn how to short stocks yesterday. It is often said that bulls make money and bears make money (but pigs get slaughtered), but until yesterday I only knew how to make money on bulls (stocks that are rising in value) by buying low and selling high. But now I can sell high by shorting stocks I think will drop lower, then buying stocks at a lower price to cover the sales I had already made at the higher price, thereby making money on bears (stock going lower in value). Anyway, it is fun whether I am winning or losing, but a heck of a lot funner when I am winning. Make a post or leave a comment!!! Aaron

Up in Park City

Well, I'm up in Park City staying at the condo I have listed in the Carriage House. It's beautiful up here. The condo is located at 1940 Prospector Ave. #301 in Park City and is for sale at $153,000. You can see the pictures at the bottom of the page under featured listings. Anyway, I came up here to relax and get away from everything. The bus system here is great. It's free and it goes everywhere. I plan on walking to old town Park City in a little while. For now I am just watching the Lake House with Sandra Bullock and Keanu and typing away on my blog. Join and make a post! The skatepark up here is also pretty cool, but mostly designed for vert skaters. The street portion is poorly designed. Luckily I have been practicing my vert skating at the new American Fork park just north of Orem, that can be seen from Highway 15 if you are heading north. There is a huge bowl at the park that is totally awesome, but it's street course leaves a lot to be desired also.

Heidegger and being-in-the-world

My familiarity with computers and my concept of an "internet" started long ago with an idea, probably gained from the movie War Games in the 80's, of a private space that could be infiltrated by savvy teenaged hackers from a distant location. I typed away on my Commadore 64 imagining that the code I typed might access a secret portion of my floppy disk revealing military plans or connecting to a CIA computer, like in the movie Cloak and Dagger.Phenomenological description: the internet is not an object but a concept and a skill set while I am coping in the web environment. While I am engaged in skillful activity it is difficult to call the tools - in this case the computer workstation - "objects". I am here at my workstation, but also there - engulfed in skillful coping on the net and with my tools and therefore, I am not a subject encountering an object in my experience (phenomenologically). The internet workstation can be an object of course, e.g. when I am new to computers, new to typing , or if it slips off the desk onto my bamboo floor. Then I am not engaged in the skillful activity of web browsing, but seperate from the workstation as a subject, and it appears to me as an object with distinguishable and distinct qualities. But with language, and while skillfully coping - I am able to conceptually distinguish myself from the experience of writing to say that I was writing. But this is just to say that I can talk while engaged in skillful coping, because on some level I would agree that one is often skillfully coping, and talking, and even doing complicated stick-shift and foot pedals at the same time.... while imagining what dinner will be. One reads the word "blogging" while browsing and that it is good for business, or heard about it at a technology convention for realtors, and over time my background familiarity grew. Over time and the idea of blogging no longer seems beyond my capabilities. I heard that http://www.blogger.com/ was good early this morning. Now here I am. Transparently typing?...IN PROGRESS
